It's with much sadness that I have to report the passing this evening of our good friend and comrade, Ian Harvey, better known to us all as “Snowy”.
Snowy's health had been deteriorating for a number of years, but despite this he was never happier than when attending shows and events. He would gladly share his extensive knowledge of WW2 weapons and kit with anyone who asked, and would hold the public engrossed with detailed and entertaining presentations, especially with his favorite, the Vickers Machine Gun.
Snowy will be remembered as a real gentleman, and a good friend. RIP Snowy, your duty's done.
Regretably, as you will all no doubt have realized by now, due to the current medical situation, there will be no events taking place for at least the next three months, I have had it confirmed that the recommendation for VE day 75th anniversary events, is to postpone them until 8th May 2021.
Other shows and events may try to reschedule for later in the year should the situation improve, but that remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, stay safe, take care and we'll meet again once it has all blown over.
The SMVG Annual Swap Meet 15th March 2020
Due to the very recent rise in cases of Coronavirus it is with regret we have decided to cancel Sundays Swap Meet. We do not wish to place our membership and the public at risk unnecessarily as we think the situation will develop rapidly before Sunday. I think many will be relieved at this announcement. In due course we'll set a new date for the event when the time is right.

Charity Cheque Presentation.
The Scottish Military Vehicle Group recently handed over a cheque for £1000 to the ABF, The Soldiers Charity. The Group actively fundraise for the charity at the many events we attend and the presentation marked the culmination of last year’s fundraising efforts. Club Chairman Roddy Brown handed over the cheque to the ABF’s representative Alex Braceland at our Military Swap Meet held at Bridge of Earn on the 4th of March.
SMVG Facebook Page
Does the SMVG have a Facebook page? Its a question that we are often asked and the answer is yes we do. However its a private page only open to club members and its status is secret at the moment so a quick search will reveal nothing. If you are a current member and you wish to join our Facebook community you need to contact John Webster who I'm sure will get you on board in a jiffy.
